Chinese Worldviews Seminar

China today is characterized by a distinctive combination of traditional cultural and religious values, current dynamic developments domestically and internationally, and anticipated future prospects as a major world power. This diversity of historical influences is all explored and evaluated in the Chinese Worldviews Seminar.

This course explores these themes with a variety of resources including many special lectures from China scholars, insightful readings, and videos illuminating the course content. The whole course is organized and integrated by Charles Weber who taught Chinese history at Wheaton College (IL) for four decades and has led many studygroups to China.

The course is arranged around three Friday-Saturday sessions (May 30-31, June 13-14 and June 27-28) with a week in between for accessing the readings and video material.

The course may either be audited or taken for credit from the Graduate Theological Union at the University of California-Berkeley or from Denver Seminary.
